Kennedale Certified iSWM Silver
The City of Kennedale has been recognized as the latest municipality to receive the silver iSWM designation! On April 17th, 2017, the North Central Texas Council of Governments presented the Kennedale city council with a plaque and street sign designating their iSWM status.
Some of the iSWM outcomes the City of Kennedale has focused on and implemented include:
- adopting the iSWM Design methodology for stormwater detention basins,
- requiring developers to conduct downstream assessments to ensure there are no negative impacts of proposed developments downstream,
- and designing stormwater infrastructure to fully-developed (built-out) land use conditions.
Congratulations Kennedale for all the great work you are doing to improve water quality, protect streambanks, and mitigate risk of flooding!
